New Village Arts Theatre

In its compact 100-seat theater, New Village Arts Theatre draws over 20,000 visitors to Carlsbad Village each year to see professional theatre at the highest level of quality. Additionally, New Village Arts offers talkback talks and other supplemental events in order to foster discourse and foster a sense of community, in addition to full seasons of plays and musicals starring some of the top creative talents in Southern California. New Village Arts Theatre also manages The Foundry Artist Studios, which serves as a collaborative studio space for area visual artists and provides comprehensive theatrical programs in conjunction with the local school districts. New Village Arts offers educational and creative activities for young people who have neurodiversity as well as for individuals who have Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of cognitive decline. In addition, through its Latinx outreach effort, Teatro Pueblo Nuevo, New Village Arts aspires to promote Latinx culture and heritage on and off the stage throughout the year and celebrate Latinx culture and heritage in general. New Village Arts Theatre is a firm believer in the need to make theatre and arts experiences accessible to all people and has emerged as a pioneer in equity, diversity, and inclusion in San Diego.

A resident professional theatre company is an essential component of an inclusive and creative community, so New Village Arts Theatre have been lucky to receive sponsorship from the City of Carlsbad and other local companies. Their mission is to prioritize service to the community by presenting works that acknowledge and respect regional cultural differences while also engaging every person with relevant and inspirational tales.

Spring is a time for general auditions for New Village Arts’ season, which is held annually in spring.
